I mean, it's not a big deal since nobody reads this site anyway...but I guess in having a Web site, I should still utilize it as the proper motivation to write...

Here's to putting a chink in the armor of apathy.

A Real Game is Born

Damn, it took me a while to build this one...in any case, this is my pride and joy, my baby, my delight...this is my first real game. Basically, it is a multi-player game called Virtual Date. Virtual Date. By creating an account within this game, you can plan a date (if you are a woman) and can actually go on a date (if you are a man). In addition, if you are a woman, you can view the results of men who have played your date. The fixed roles and fixed sexuality based on gender are not permanent, and they will be expanded in the future. In any case, feel free to experience the fruits of my labor.

    In the Beginning...

Welcome to the first experiment of my having a personal propoganda machine, from which I will now indoctrinate you on a most critical subject : me. As a proud representative of the NYC area, I am glad to have the opportunity to greet you and take you on a tour of what I have to offer. My vocational ID is 0525934189 (and, yes, it has been branded onto the back of my neck for easy scanning), and my duties mainly consist of software engineering and software programming. Though my status as a conscript (or so I like to think) irks me at times, I tend to be a happy little slave/monkey when performing my work, especially when it comes to object-oriented programming (i.e, C++ and Java) on major operating systems (especially in regards to the various flavors of UNIX). Of course, if you still don't believe me, take a look at my resume.

Even though half of my soul is embedded within the field of software engineering and software programming, the other half yearns for the aesthetics, of which I've neglected as time has passed. In my earlier years, before I fled the insanity of contemporary humanities and embraced the cool yet honorable craft of computer work, the majority of my time was spent reading novels and writing in various forms. Like many people in their youth, my immediate environment left me to want a great deal, and since I could not be satisfied in fact, I sought solace within fiction, created by both myself and others. These treasured archives of my past writings can be found here (and only here, damn you!) and if you like to read words that have been assembled according to the strict guidelines of a composed grammar, you should proceed quickly to the list of writings which I have dared to post for public consumption.

It was only a matter of time, though, before I would discover that the two worlds did not need to be so separate from one another. There was a place to forge a product of both writing and programming : games. Oddly, I came to once again embrace the very goal that I had dreamed off as a child but of which I had abandoned on my way to being a "responsible" adult. So, for the past few years, I have slowly increased my exposure to the game development community and to the general process which goes into making games, bumping myself up from knowing absolutely nothing to being merely a nascent game developer. Programming Web games, participating in open source communities with aims at the creation of a MMORPG, creating mods from the Quake3 engine...I like to think that I've gotten a little taste of everything out there in game develoment. And, with that learning experience comes the joy (and pain) of honing your craft as you create your very own games for the first time. If you're merely curious (or if you could use a good laugh), check out some of the games that have been spawned in the last few years.

As time goes on, I will add more to this site...but, for now, this is all you're gonna get. So be thankful for that!
